Chana Masala and Naan Bread !!!!


Ingredients:


150 gms kabuli chana soaked overnight and pressure cooked,

2 onions finely chopped,

4 tomatoes pureed,

1 tspn ginger paste,

1 tspn garlic paste,

1 tspn jeera,

salt as per taste,

2-3 tblspn chana masala powder,

1 tspn amchur powder,

2-3 bay leaves,

3-4 cloves,

1-2 tbslpn red chilli powder,

1/2 tspn garam masala powder,

Oil,

chopped coriander leaves and onion rings for garnishing.


Procedure:

Heat oil in hard-bottom vessel and add jeera, bay leaves and cloves.

Now add chopped onions and saute till them turn translucent.

Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for few minutes.

Pour tomato puree and add all spices and mix well.

Let it cook till oil starts coming out of mixture.

Now add cooked chana, salt and little water (depending how thick or thin consistency you want). Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and onion rings.

Serve with Naan bread.


Recipe for Naan Bread

Ingredients:

2 cups of All purpose flour,

1 tspn sugar,

2 tspn dry yeast mixed in Lukewarm water,

salt,

4 tblspn yogurt,

Oil,

black sesame seeds (Optional),

Butter.


Procedure:

For dough add sugar, salt in flour.

Make a well in the centre of flour and add yeast water , yougurt and knead to make soft dough. If too sticky add little four and oil and knead.

Now place dough in oiled bowl and cover with damp cloth and keep it in a warm place for about 2-3 hours.

Pre-heat oven for about 10 minutes.

Place baking sheet on tray.

Now make balls of dough and roll them into oval shape.

Sprinkle some sesame seeds over it and place them on tray.

Bake for 7-8 minutes or until lightly brown.

Brush with butter and serve with Chana Masala .
