Puran Poli For Holi :)




Ingredients:21/2 cups Maida (plain Flour//all purpose flour),
1/2 cup wheat flour,
3 cups Gram Daal(Chana Daal),
3 cups finely chopped jaggery(Gul),
2 tblspn sugar,
1 tspn Cardamom (Elaichi) powder,
1/2 Nutmeg grated,
pinch of salt,
6 tblspn Oil,
1 tblspn rice flour .

Procedure:
Cookthe chana dal in pleanty of water till four whistles. After the dal is completely cooked, drain the water and keep it aside.





This is called KAT used for KATACHI AAMTI.





Mash little bit with the help of masher.






Now mix jaggery, sugar and gram dal together, and keep it on slow gas.





Initially it becomes too runny but constantly stir the mixture till it becomes thick.






You can check by inserting spatula in the middle of mixture, if it stands erect it means its quite thick enough .






Add grated nutmeg and cardamom powder.Remove from heat and pass it through Puran Poli Yantra(Blender) while still hot.






Your Puran is ready for Puran-Poli.







Add water and oil in Maida, wheat flour and make the dough little loose than usual chapati dough. You have to knead the dough with plenty of oil and little salt. Keep it aside for 2 hours. Again knead for 10 minutes.







Make small balls of Gram dal mixture (Puran).Now take small portion of Maida dough and roll it like a poori , add Puran in the centre.Close it from all sides carefully.







Roll the Poli carefully,use rice flour for rolling out.







Heat on tawa from both sides.







Serve hot with pure ghee and Katachi amti. Also you can serve Puran Poli with hot milk
