Palak - Paneer (Type 1)



Ingredients:

1 big bunch of Fresh Spinach
10-12 cubes of Paneer
1 medium onion finely chopped
1-2 tomatoes boiled in hot water, skin removed and mashed.
11/2 tblpsn ginger+garlic+green chilli paste (Adjust according to your taste)
1 tblspn oil+1 tblspn pure ghee
salt as per taste
2 tspn Garam masala
1 tspn Jeera ( Cumin seeds)


Procedure:

Blanch Spinach leaves in hot water for 5 minutes and blend in a mixer and make a paste.
Saute paneer cubes in one teaspoon of ghee/oil till they are golden brown.





Heat 1 tblspn oil+1 tblspn pure ghee in hard-bottomed vessel.


Add jeera to ghee+oil and let it splutter.


Now add chopped onions and fry them till translucent.


Now add ginger+garlic+green chilli paste and saute.


Now add mashed tomatoes and cook for 5-6 minutes.


Add salt and garam masala and mix well.


Now add spinach paste and cook further for 7-10 minutes.


Simmer gas and add paneer cubes. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes.

Serve hot with chapatis, roti or steamed rice.
