I have made some little changes to this recipe according to my taste :)
Ingredients:
500 gms chicken washed, cleaned and cut into pieces.
3 Tomatoes pureed
2 medium onions finely chopped
3 tblspn yogurt+ginger+garlic+green chilli+mint leaves paste for marination
3 tblspn roasted cashewnut powder
2-3 tspn Red chilli powder
1 tspn Turmeric powder
2 tspn Garam Masala
1 tspn Coriander powder
Salt to taste
2-3 Bay leaves
2-3 Cloves
2-3 Green Cardamom
4 tblspn Butter or Oil
2 pieces of Charcoal
Procedure:
Marinate chicken pieces with little salt and yogurt+ginger+garlic+green chilli+mint leaves paste.(It gives nice flavour).
Heat butter in heavy-bottom vessel and add whole spices.
Now add chopped onions and saute well.
Add chicken pieces and saute for 3-4 minutes on medim heat.
Add all spices and salt and mix well.
Now add Tomato puree and mix well.
Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Because we have added yogurt and tomato puree there is no need to add water.
If you wish to have this dish as curry then you adjust the amount of water accordingly.
Add roasted cashewnut powder and mix well.
In original recipe they added cream, i skipped adding cream because i already added yogurt which gives nice creamy texture.
On other side heat charcoal piece on gas-flame till smoky hot.
Place steel bowl in chicken gravy and place hot charcoal piece in it, add spoonful of oil over it and cover immediately and keep it closed for 4-5 minutes. (Here you need to be very quick and careful)
Serve hot with Roti, Naan or Chapati.
