Moong Dal Halwa






Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Yellow Moong Dal washed and soaked for 4 hours.
Grind dal in mixer to paste without adding water.
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Clarified Butter
2 Tbslpn khoya
1 Tspn Cardamom Powder
A Pinch of Saffron
Slivered Almonds and cashews for garnishing.



Procedure:

Heat Ghee or Clarified Butter in non-stick pan and add ground dal paste.


Roast well on medium flame.




Roast for about 25-30 minutes until butter starts separating from dal and it slightly changes to Golden Brown.



Now add Khoya and mix well. Roast for another 5-6 minutes.



On other side add sugar, saffron to 3/4 cup of water and bring it to boil.




Add this sugar syrup to dal mixture and cook on medium low heat.


Add dry fruits and cardamom powder and give a quick mix.


Serve hot .
